Artist Interview

Gloria Pacosa

May 8, 2013

How did you get started?
I guess I have spent my life making things. Learned to sew when i was 6 or 7 and my dad taught me to garden then as well. I was fortunate to have incredible art teachers in junior high and high school who encouraged me to continue. I got my BFA in glass and ceramics at mass art, and have been making a living by making things since college.

I blew glass, was a doll maker, book binder , gardener. Now i spend my time working in my garden , taking care of my beautiful home and cooking for a living.

What do you love about your job?
I love lots about my job. What better job than to live in a beautiful home that I decorate and repair and share it with people for special events. Opening up our home for monumental events in peoples lives is really such a gift. How lucky am I to be able to share in ones wedding or memorial and be able to make their incredible day beautiful. It's quite wonderful.
