April pics: Winterpills

Ode was Under the Amazing spell of Flora Reed and Philip Price of Winterpills as they filled the room with their voices, harmonies, and captivating presence.  The darkly luminescent duo were, in the words of Shakespeare: "such stuff as dreams are made on."  Despite it being Friday the 13th, we were infinitely lucky to have them here. Thanks, Flora and Philip: from the moment you started to sing and we were all lovely goners...

What's better than cozying up with a book, a soft blanket, and a hot tea on a rainy day?  We know: listening to Winterpills, the Northampton-born band, who will be playing at Ode on our lucky Friday 13th in April. Flora Reed and Philip Price of the dreamy Winterpills let us into their world for a few brief beautiful moments:

March Pics: The Wilds

What does a taxidermy fisher cat, horse skull, crimped hair, beautiful women, shells, feathers, coral, and aggressive eyeliner have in common?  They were all there for Ode's Spring fashion show, The Wilds, featuring Jillian Greg's Wildfiberarts wall-hangings-turned-statement-jewelry-art.  Our favorite ladies of the Ode Tribe took the runway with prowess and power in maxis, minis, stripes and solids. Thanks to Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary, the non-profit we're supporting for the month, for lending us some of their wildlife relics.  They also informed us that a "fisher cat" is actually just a "fisher," of the weasel family.  So there you have it: art, fashion, and a little natural history lesson.
