Artist Interview: Idalia Cintron

Idalia Cintron has been creating her own accessories and clothing since she was a child. She is always on the pulse of trends if not one leap ahead. Idalia has been a longtime stylist at Just B boutique in Springfield and will be bringing her latest collection of wares to the Pop Up Art Bazaar on Friday, July 13th from 6-8pm.

Can you tell us what you make?

I specialize in accessories, from clutches to necklaces to headpieces, and my line continues to evolve along track with my lifestyle. Producing my interpretation of what’s on the cutting edge of fashion’s forefront inspires me. To replicate the unattainable, and make it affordable and accessible strongly influences my creative process.

What is your dream job?

My dream job would be to style a runway show for New York Fashion Week. That, or heavily accessorize the Olsen twins!

If you were a piece of clothing, what would be and what color/pattern?
I'd have to be this amazing gold, beaded shrug that I lost! I rocked it as a head wrap, a top, or draped over my jeans. It was one of those items that I had for years and it gave every look an extra kick; a little sparkle never goes out of style.

What is your "go-to happy" song?
I'd have to say "Black Thumbnail" by the Kings of Leon. It amps me up and brings me back to a time in my life when I felt most free--when I had a childlike state of mind and was still too naive to have a care in the world.
