What's on Your Wishlist?

With the holidays swiftly approaching, we can't help but have our eyes on a few things in the store.  Here are some of our personal favorites for holiday gift ideas.

Jenessa's Picks:
A versatile print scarf, a wide brim hat, a sheer maxi skirt and classic black leather Frye boots.

This print scarf is my favorite because of its geometric, Southwestern inspired print. The color-way lends itself to be worn with both warm and cool colors. The long, sheer maxi skirt is great for a girl who likes to layer up. It would be fun to wear with printed tights, or with opaque colored tights paired with knee-high socks. You can dress it up with heels and a pretty top, or down with a pair of boots and a sweater. To keep warm, a fuzzy wide brimmed hat. And a classic pair of black Frye boots that look even better as they age would be amazing to unwrap.

Artist Interview: Home Body

For Arts Night Out this December, we're very excited to feature Home Body: the dreamy electronic duo, Haley Morgan and Eric Hnatow. These two creative spirits are among our favorite Northampton locals. They are sure to warm your heart with their genuine, positive energy and rich, playful sounds.

What I'm Wearing to the Holiday Party

[from the J Files]

One of the most highly anticipated makeup collaborations is dropping at the end of this month. Gareth Pugh's wildly dark and futuristic cosmetic collection will be available at MAC counters November 23rd and internationally in December. Pugh, an English designer, has been hailed for his "architectural genius" and as the "latest addition to a long tradition of fashion-as-performance-art that stretches back through Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, and Vivienne Westwood to the eighties club culture of Leigh Bowery." Impressive, considering the designer is just 31 years old. Since his runway debut in 2006, Pugh has experimented with radical shapes in a monochromatic palette which has amassed his brand a cult-like following.

November Pics: Saskia Larraz

Saskia Larraz made artists out of all of us on November 11th.  Because there's an art to wearing her jewelry--an element of creative play.  One woman paired the brass square wrap bracelet with the goldenrod and rose beads.  Another layered the pearls with carnelian and violet hues. Necklaces became bracelets and bracelets became infinite color combinations.  That's the thing about Saskia Larraz jewelry: the more the better.  And Saskia couldn't be more beautiful or sweet--another combo we quite love.

Women Who Inspire Us: Sabine Merz

Whenever Sabine steps into Ode, she always brightens our day with her lovely smile and cheerful disposition. Sabine came by the store to pick out a few things before she left on a trip to Germany. We love her style and her positive attitude, and we were delighted to see her take a little bit of Ode with her to Europe!

Sabine was sweet enough to send us a note about her travels, as well as some adorable photos, including some of her Ode bag in action:

 Ode Goes Swiss

"It was time to go home, Germany that is. And at the end of a fabulous visit, the plan was to visit some friends in Switzerland as well. Of course, I took my favorite Ode clothes with me, such as a black and white Dolan jacket that kept me warm and cozy through various climates. There was also nice Graham & Spencer sweater, if a fancy occassion should occur, and occur it did. Oh, and there was also an Out of Print T-Shirt dedicated to Darwin's Origins of the Species, because I do think that we evolved.

"...And there was my Ode bag: because I ask you, how can one travel without one? And I did promise Kristin to take some pictures.

"Once arrived in Switzlerland, I shamelessly flaunted and showed off my Ode bag...on an antique sled, in the snow, in the high mountain air, on the unexpected half meter of snow, or during some crazy fun. And why not bring Ode to Europe? I had the bag and knew how to use it. So Grüzi Ode!"

Thanks, Sabine, for sharing your travel log with us!
Don't forget to send in your pictures for our "Where Has Your Ode Bag Been?"  Send your photo of your Ode bag, with your name and contact info to Liz@odeboutique.com, and we'll enter you into a drawing to win a $50 gift card to Ode.
