August Pics: Ode turns One

Butterflies and winged creatures, half monsters and decorated dogs, flying cupcakes...and more than a few fabulously well-dressed guests. It was no boring birthday bash on Arts Night Out with the Ode crew. The Electric Cocktail Party fed us, Catalina LaPointe decorated us, and Joanna Chattman was there to capture the flora and fauna (and facepaint) of our fun. Fleathers: Feathers and Leather Unite

This sunburst of beauty comes to Ode courtesy of Linda Smyth, the creator of two accessory lines, Fleathers and Rabid Fox. Fleathers are hand-cut pieces of texturized or brightly dyed leather that are then layered and assembled with care in Philadelphia. Flashes of color illuminated with bold fragments of gold or silver are balanced with neutral tones making these statement earrings bold yet whimsical.
